The drinking age is generally MUCH lower at home than in public places.
It's a fairly well known fact and I am frankly quite surprised as to why you would all doubt her!

I would doubt anyone who said it was legal at home for the underaged.. -,-
It is not offensively targeted at her so don't act like we hate her.. Not everyone does. lol Rolling Eyes

No
It's legal at home because:

1. Parents are on hand to prevent it from going out of control
2. Drunkeness is generally confined to the home
3. Alcohol is generally fine in moderation
4. Who cares if the kiddo gets boozed-up in his house? The police aint gonna come round and jail yah for it.

It's like when Suicide used to be officially/technically illegal. It isn't anymore because who is gonna punish your corpse?

There is no drinking age here, but if you are caught giving your child any alcohol you risk severe penalty and worse, you can loose your child. The law is there only to ensure the children them selves will not get punished for drinking it.

That kind of drinking culture is so strange here that it sounded unbelieveable. Also giving alcohol to a young person is irresponsible, that's why I was wondering if that can really be allowed in any country.

Apparently there was no minumun drinking age in Finland, either. I think that possession of alcohol is illegal for those aged under 18, though. Also handing over that stuff to an underaged person is illegal.

That would be very.. abnormal. Totally the opposite of normal.

Even though the law allows six-year-old kids to drink alcohol at their homes I can tell without seeing that very rare do that.
First of, I don't think many parent allows their children to booze at that age, let alone buying or offering drink to them.
Secondly, I really doubt that many kids at the best playing age have any kind of interest in drinking.

Maybe the law which doesn't strictly deny children's drinking assumes that people are smart enough to realise by themselves not to.

That is what he thinks about. Then he is also sick. lol

My parents would have never given me a glass of wine when I was six years old. I also never got but just a little gulp of beer and such, either.

I think it depends on the person and the habits at home. Some people are more tolerant than others.
