I would suggest getting the DOOM shareware version and GZDOOM.

shareware (bottom download): http://www.doomworld.com/pageofdoom/shareware.html
GZDOOM: http://grafzahl.drdteam.org/index.php?page=topic&id=230

Copy the DOOM.WAD file into the GZDOOM directory, and run gzdoom.exe. Mouse, freelook, openGL rendering, dynamic lights, a lot of bugs fixed. That's what GZDOOM is mostly about.
