So it's lame because you can't run it.

if I'm not on a game, how can it be any good?

I usually want to take the good guys, the Jedi order has always fascinated me. I always hope the good wins.
Although, Sith are interesting, too. I could pick them with no further problems, after all I chose Horde in WoW, as well.

If I played the game alone I would probably take the Republic's side, but if everyone else took Sith I could join them no doubt. xD
