hey all, just felt some nostalgia when a twitch streamer was playing dark forces/Jedi Knight for the first time ... i miss the old days

just in case i hadn't mentioned it before i don't PC game anymore unless it's 2 play the older games i still own (if i can get them 2 install from their physical discs/get them 2 run correctly) so i'll still be up for those and/or play cross-platform enabled games

or if u have an xbox one / series x, as thats my main platform now

PC exclusive here, what cross-play games do you play?

i was doing great untill i got ill for a week - 2 weeks or so towards the end of last month (i think) and i caught another (different) infection a few days ago but i'll hopefully get through this 1 as well, thanks for asking.

actively, not much cross-platform games unfortunately but i don't mind jumping on the free ones or if they are available on Xbox/PC gamepass (whenever i can afford a month subscription)
so if you want to play Rocket League, PowerWash Simulator or whatever just let me know and hopefully i can participate

Call of Duty's multiplayer is the only one am active on (including Modern WarFare 2 (2022)) however i've fallen off the battle royale games over the years.

i used to be active on BattleField 2042 (after it was added to gamepass) untill the update that brought back the class system (am happy classes are back but the last time i played it, i wasn't pleased that specialists are assigned to a specific class and the spawn beacon equipment is not in the recon class when it was previously in the game).

i do/did enjoy Destiny but not enough to purchase the DLC, am not into the lore/story (just don't want to read armor/weapon description etc, i'd rather have it as a cutscene within the game) and wasn't big on the PvP either, my enjoyment came from the raid so i did alot of Vault of Glass raids untill the 1st DLC came out and everyone moved onto the next raid and i stopped playing. i might be in the minority here but i preferred Nolan North as the voice for the ghost (i think he was the original voice) am not a huge fan of him but after hearing the new voice, i thought it was worse so that didn't help getting me to buy the DLC either

i bought Destiny 2 on release day however since that was the brand new thing everyone was playing at the time and like before, i just played it for The Leviathan raid (that raid's story sort of grabbed me) and nothing else really and again i only played it untill the 1st DLC came out and even now i haven't played it since.
because i was out the loop with Destiny 2, i never heard it was going Free to Play so that annoyed me that i now have it's physical disc gathering dust since i can't sell my disc if i ever decided that i wanted to get rid of it (my only chance is that a huge Destiny fan is willing to buy it as a collectors item)
so i kinda been following it here and there since then and i heard it's now cross-platform but am unsure if thats just between Xbox and PlayStation or including PC (i assumed PC as well because i think that cross-progression was a previous update and u could transfer it to PC but you'd need 2 repurchase DLC for that platform) which peaked my interest but have nobody willing 2 replay old content (new for me/returning players i think).

Illness can be a bitch, I hate getting sick. Everything is a chore...

Out of these the only one I'm kinda active on is MW2022, I preferably play DMZ and Resurgence for some warmup.

Used to love Overwatch, but I didn't like the new path they've taken, so it was kinda sad for me to get rid of it.

Otherwise, I also tend to play VR games.

i did enjoy DMZ, it was fresh as obviously having switched over to xbox now, i hadn't played an extraction game like Escape from Tarkov before (although completely different, i guess Rainbow Six Extraction is the closest thing that i've played) but i haven't touched DMZ since everybody's progress got wiped (never entered Building 21 either).
excluding the new vests and the Pay to Win bundles in the store, i did like the sound of the new content.

am kinda 50/50 on Resurgence, i like that my team can respawn but on the flip side, i don't like that others also respawn and small maps just make that feel worse (i get it that people get the thrill of always being in an engagement with hardly any time to breathe) so i'd rather have the castle section of the map back as a remake multiplayer map.
if people are going to respawn, i'd rather play plunder (so am glad it returning mid-season) but am happy to have the option to play Resurgence on the big map now as an alternative.

the only time i really played WarZone was for the events like the next game reveal, Halloween event, etc but for 2.0 my team did a few nuke attempts after it was discovered while less people knew about it before they started catching on for the "unique" rewards, the furthest we had gotten was 3 wins in a row by a fluke and the fact that my lack of skill probably didn't help (if they had an 4th player closer to their skill level, they might have gotten a nuke instead of having to carry me through multiple wins ).
for a serious nuke attempt i was only good for being support/a porter so they'd give me the largest backpack we could find and load me up on most (since obviously if i get downed in a hard area 2 recover loot, would be bad) of the trophy systems, killstreaks, smoke grenades, ammo boxes and armor boxes.

Overwatch and Sea of Thieves aren't my type of games due 2 no upgrading weapons/attachments to make the same weapon feel somewhat different (not that games that do have weapon/character builds feel that way as people are always looking for the "meta" anyway) and cosmetics aren't what am into either.

my friends that do play Overwatch preferred 1's 6 vs 6? and loot boxes over 2's "competitive" change to 5 vs 5? and the battle pass so i assume you feel the same way about it?
i hadn't tried it after it going Free to Play due to the "new players have to play 100 matches to unlock the full roster" like what if i didn't like the play style of any of the limited characters but 1 of the ones locked behind the Free to Play requirement is a character that'd get me into playing Overwatch 2?
so thats also another little gripe i had which made me not wanting to bother installing to try out even more.

other than the reason stated above, Sea of Thieves i do enjoy playing because the exploration, cross-over events like Halo & Pirates of the Caribbean but am not a fan of the PvP, unlike other games that also have Mouse & Keyboard input support, i feel that Mouse & Keyboard players have a huge advantage in Sea of Thieves since you have to manually load the cannons etc so it all comes down to Mouse sensitivity vs Controller sensitivity.
it could be that i was up against hackers rather than an ship full of Sea of Thieves "professionals" that are all Mouse & Keyboard but that was the last time i played Sea of Thieves and i was cross-playing with a classmate at the time's PC buddies who aren't that experienced with Sea of Thieves.

finally, speaking of Halo, i heard Halo Infinite's campaign finally got 4 player co-op at some point and in that same update the campaign is also cross-platform like Halo 3 & Halo 3 ODST are on the Master Chief Collection (sucks Halo 1, 2, 4 & Reach aren't cross-platform) so i'd also be down for those if anyone is interested (i think i was getting close to finishing Halo Infinite but due to my gamepass subscription running out i never got round to finishing it).

DMZ was very fresh when it was new, but kind of lost momentum due to the reset in season 2. The new version of it is pretty great actually, having multiple operators is really great, so you don't have to waste a build just to go on a solo raid per see. The ability to craft items and use different vests with perks is also great.

I can agree with you on that, I played mostly Plunder when I was solo in MW2019, the reason I prefer Resurgence is the risk we can get wiped. We still take it slow and steady, I'm getting too old for aggressive playstyles and can't keep up with the teenagers anymore.

I'm not too into cosmetics, I ran vanilla skins in overwatch for most of the heroes even if they were free. I just really loved the dynamics of the gameplay and
hate the road they took with battle passes, heroes and 5v5.

Sea of Thieves is just for having fun, and doing "Tall tales."  I just go about my business and sometimes check out what others are doing. Love getting chased by reapers in a sloop and outsmarting their crew to lose them, just to waste their time

Played Halo on original Xbox, and never since.  

that's a fair opinion, i just don't really see the appeal of Overwatch much like Dead by Daylight, it just really sucks in general when something you enjoy goes the way you don't like.

can agree that you can't go wrong with Sea of Thieves from time to time, i just can't stand playing it for a long period of time unfortunately

i know it'd be pretty much Ground War / Invasion from the multiplayer section of Call of Duty but i do hope with the return of Plunder that like Modern Warfare (2019) they'd be the 50 vs 50 event from time to time and you can play on High Rise or Quarry (unless thats already a section of a Ground War / Invasion map rotation then nevermind i guess) especially with the return of the intervention & classic ghost bundle
