Re: NEW TV
Crappy max res, so no 1080p, crappy Brightness, decent contrast ratio, 8ms response time = risky for video games(Depends on the TV)...and I've never heard of Hannspree....
Bottom line:
Tell your parents to give you the cash they'd spend on that TV, and save up for a better one.
That's my opinion.

Re: NEW TV
Do you really need 1080p on a 32 inch? I don't think it will mater that much with that size.

Re: NEW TV
lmao 1080p is hardly noticable, ive seen one, and compare to a 1080 what this one is, theres hardly any difference.
the "Crappy" brightness is canceled out by the high contrast ratio
and ive been to a shop and seen this one in action, and its quite good.

Re: NEW TV
Yours is first gen HD it has a reso of 768.
It supports 1080i but that will be scaled down to 768.
EDIT:
And there is a wast difference in how the Interlaced and progressive scan looks and works.
Interlaced render:
Progressive:
VS:
These are poor examples, but if you want I can get some of my own

Re: NEW TV
Yes Xavior but you can only notice it if you sit VERY CLOSE to the screen, and if you do that on this TV you will go blind

You sir, are an idiot.
First of all, there is a HUGE difference between true 720p and 1080p. You obviously haven't seen something meant for 1080p, running on 1080p. If you have, I suggest you look into the eye glasses.
Second, you know nothing of displays obviously. That isn't a high contrast ratio, and with your numbers that TV will have some really bad pictures when the image is really bright, or dark.
Third, judging by what you've said, what you "see" isn't what others see.
Oh well, for the price, it's not bad, but I'd make sure you get an extended warranty.
