Yes, but he is most certainly the best known French president ever. In a "celebrity point of view" he is a hero.

GD is an actor, probably one of the best French actors.

Daft Punk was an extraordinary electronic group when they brought out their second album (Discovery). They're one of the most succesful electronic music producers, and put the French house scene on the map.

And Sarkozy was a bad example.
