.. listen to cobra, i've had that. came along with a win32 worm. got it from a email :s
made my comp unusable, and i had to completely wipe everything.
AVG, avast and antimalware bytes all detected it, but it couldnt be removed.
=( sad me.
but find the problem fast, if not it can be bad.

to reboot your comp to it statory settings, on boot press F8 and then "system restore"

insert your Windows CD in and boot from cd and re-install it will format C for ya...XD

Serious shit mate fucked my old pc up big time.
suggestion reformat reinstall windows and then leave the pc for a while also can be caused by hardware as well apperntly so general sort out bassically

look up a tutorial on youtube or just on google either way its very simple to do and quiet straight forward.
you may need a cracked version of windows if you do not have a valid key for windows.
i have a copy of win XP (VLK) eddition with a cracked cd key and all the updates packed from xp start till 2008 if that helps.
