My PC's gonna get an upgrade (after 4 years or somtin' )

i have 512 mb ram upgrade: 1G ram
=1512 mb ram

Geforce 8800 GTS 512mb
(total ram is around 2G now )

250G hard disk

19" screen

USB ports in my front panel (easier, than pretending like a cripple behind my pc)

I would recommend you throw the 512 brick away and buy two 1Gb dual channel.

And the video card uses its ram for the games or 3d/2d applications you use. If you enable the software to use gpu.

what Xav sais.. if ur mobo suports dual channel memory then buy another dim of 1GB exacly like the one u bought (and ofc get rid of the 512MB dim >.>) it will make it much fatser than the thing u have now.
and teh card owns if u r talking for the new 8800gts (g92) good choice

anyway cool u upgraded ur system

i recomend you xfx 8800GT 512 xxx edition (or if u know how to overclock it standard one). It is cheaper and on G92.

and definitely 2 x 1GB RAM DDR2 (if ur mobo supports it)

RAM in my comp is quite good,but the video card sucks.

im sure his mobo would support dual channal memory as it supports pci-e

actually he has already buy the parts i think. And GTS is beter than GT so gg Chad ^^
but as u see we all insist to buy another dim of 1GB (if u decide to buy it, buy one exacly like the one u bought) and put then in dual channel
btw what r ur other parts (CPU, mobo)?

gts is not always better couz u can get same and sometimes even better fps results from gt but...only that it is more expensive (GTS i mean)
