Re: Best Game (Sigs)
^^did you say cod5 has same story as cod4?
CoD5 = WWII story of the Japanese fights, the Polish/Russian attack on Berlin and Britain somewhere else.
CoD2 was Russians - Berlin
Americans - Pointe Du Hoc and D-Day
British - Alamein
Joint - ehh not got far ...prolly some rescue mission
CoD5 wont be anything like cod3

WW1
Sit in a trench half the game. Hear a whistle, go over the top, get mowed down.
Game over.

Re: Best Game (Sigs)
That's how it started, not why it started.
France revánche 1870 against Germany, Troubles in the Balkans; Bosnian Crisis 1908, Balkan Wars 1912/13, Morroccan Crises '05, '11 - French/Ger/Brit angst. Naval race 1905+, Failures of Weltpolitik, German aggression, German domestic problems, desire for war in Britain, Replacement of Bismarck containment policies, erratic Kaiser etc but to name a few.
The assassination of FF was only but a mere trigger, an excuse for Austria-Hungary to declare war on Serbia, as revenge for 1912/13. They knew they had German backing, and that Russia would start war, so effectively they knew it'd be a Europe-wide war. I mean, Britain's 'right to protect the neutrality of Belgium' was an excuse, under most other circumstances, it wouldn't have been upheld. So Boomlala and Tony may be speaking German otherwise.......
ANYWAY, WW1 would only have a few decent battles for a game, like Loos or Mons.
Remember, tanks didn't even exist until like 1917, and even then they were primitive.

Re: Best Game (Sigs)
The point of these games is, you take place of a certain soldier, you experience the war through their eyes, they die aka you lose then their died, you cant carry on.

Re: Best Game (Sigs)
...
No, most of the battles in COD occur, or contribute to another battle. You're objectives may be slightly fictional, but it's a decent idea of what men had to do during those battles; defending houses, dynamiting artillery guns and clearing out bunkers.
In that sense it's not fiction. All those battles contributed to the way the war finished, when it finished and how it finished. That is strictly followed in COD; the action of COD may not be, but the storyline is. Your death in COD doesn't affect how the War goes. The allies dont suddenly lose the war if u die.
