JK2 Problem

That gray square is usually displayed when the game can't find the texture, I've usually seen this when tweaking textures on maps etc..

Could also be a issue with your graphics card, but I'm not sure if it should be affected in anyway that early. I'd try a quick reinstall(remember patch) and a update of drivers.

^^^^ I agree. And if it is a video card problem (which it really shouldnt be due to the not so high requirements for the game) See if its loose or reinstall the drivers for it.

so I reinstall JK? hmm that's not gonna be easy since I got it sent via msn years ago,

ok I just deleted my JK (after backup ofc) and unzipped it again. It works, ty guys !

So I have the same problem as before. Reinstalling JK worked for a while; but now it unfixed itself (i think after rebooting, tough not sure)

any other suggestions besides reinstalling JK every time I want to play?

Buy the actually game because illegal copies of the game tend to have issues like that shit

I'd point at new drivers who are buggy with JK2. So you'll have to wait for even newer drivers to fix it. Same thing happened to a friend and NWN2.

Mate, which graphics card do you have?

If you are unsure do this:

click on start > run: now type "DXdiag" without "

Just hit yes.

Now a the top click on "display"

And there it says "name: your-gpu" like "ATi Radeon HD 5800 Series"

If it is any help, my JK may have stopped (not entirely sure) working after I installed Bioshock. I already removed this game as I didn't like it. Could it be conected to this due to something like drivers? And could it be fixed or do I need yet an other reformat?

You can also try to reinstall the "directX"

Goto you JK2 disc, there will be a folder called "directX" open it and launch setup.
