Red Dead Redemption worth getting?

Has anyone played it?

I think it's like 6 months old, but their new DLC "Undead Nightmare" looks awesome.

I have played it a bit. It's a bit like GTA in the old west. But I mind you, from my game experience it wasn't nearly as good as GTA though.
Also it didn't hook me into playing it for longer than 1-2h.

I'd say it's somewhere in the middle of good and average.
