He probably meant the Scottish accent, just like American English is derived from British English.

Gaelic is another tale, but that one is derived aswell from a Celtic language.

Ive seen you type it. But If I barely can read and understand what you're typing how can I hear it? Cause seriously I couldn't compare them.
But in the netherlands it's the same. I'm from south part of the netherlands. Southern province (Limburg) Here they have another accent as well. Many other accents. I speak "Mestreechs" which is very different then the dutch language. But on the nothern province there is another different language called Frysk. And I can't understand that accent either, unless I concentrate lol.

And then there is also Flemish dutch, with a complete different sound than Dutch dutch. And Flanders has accents aswell.

But most of the time they are able to comprehend eachother well.
