It takes me about 3 minutes to prepare a song MP3 for you in this way. It is easy to learn and doesn't count as warez. No spyware or viri risk.

Alright, here is my method to download MP3's, so that the PC's of those inclined to use Shitwire/KaShit/BearShit can rest for a while.

Get the hold of a YouTube/Google Video/... video of your song.
Go to www.keepvid.com and enter your site.
Take the low quality download and safe your file as 'musicfilename.flv'. Be sure to add the .flv , since it doesn't get added automatically. Ofcourse, musicfilename can be anything
Go to www.flv2mp3.com and select 'upload file' or something.
Browse on your pc and select musicfilename.flv and let the website do it's work.
When the download comes up, accept.

Voila, free and legal MP3 on your pc.

I downloaded 100 songs from limewire.. about 5 of them were virus infected and I deleted them immediately. =.='
Never got any spyware. with a good anti virus scanner you won't get one.

Torrents are good too, but I got problems downloading them.

the way u describe is a good one... i also use it for tracks less popular or when i cant find a track i want on limewire
but there is a serious problem... the quality... especially in the old videos or the way the user has save it in order to make it smaller.. also many times its mono instead of stereo

The sound on youtube depends on how good you are at setting up rendering properties.

Still the method sounds way to complicated and time consuming.

Especially if you are after more then a few titles.

Haha, I use that way too, only I use Any Video Converter to let it auto-download from YouTube and auto-convert to mp3.

There is a way to increase the qualitfy at YouTube.

And I am not a music expert or anything, but I find the quality of the songs I got off Youtube to be reasonable. There are also more videos of one song, so if you're really after the premium quality one, you can compare them (I don't hear any difference though, like I said, not one of those people who can hear the difference between OGG and MP3).

I use Opera and usually open up 10 tabs of each site, and then do a major copy-and-paste routine. It gets into your fingers after a while.

Hence why Torrents are win.

But they never seem to download here. The one time I got it working was my FFVIII torrent but due to stupidity of yours truly the download fucked up.

It involved CCleaner.
