An English debate.

I was walking down the corridor at our school when my English teacher came to me. She'd been in attempt to find a volunteer to participate in a debate between the schools of the city. Some had cancelled and others weren't volunteer so she asked me to take part.

I said yes, since it sounded very interesting. Moreover, it would be excellent practice for my oral English.
We'll work in pairs, and as far as I understood we'll be competing other pairs of the same kind. The winner goes straight to the finals in Helsinki, and the winners of the whole competition will get to travel to London.

Hopefully we'll win, but it's almost sure that we won't. There are going to be students from all around Finland, some even from schools where the teaching happens fully in English.
Still I won't let all hope go, there might be a slight chance. And if nothing else, it's going to be a great experience.

It's next month so I've got some time to prepare for it, however not so long as the other students had. So all of you anus-lickers, wish me luck.

Dude, if you want practice in debating in English, I'll pop onto vent sometime and help... I do a subject called 'Critical Thinking' which is about formulating arguments and debates, and I also do Debating Society at school >.>

That would be excellent, mate! Let's do that sometime, I appreciate it. It's just that I have no experience in debating, so I practically need to start from the beginning. Gladly I've got some hand-outs including tips, rules and such.

I'll take a peak at those and knock your shoulder in msn sometime to discuss about that Vent -chat.
