They immigrated to Scotland.

Fixed. Next time check your spelling before asking someone if they are stupid.

It is both correct, immigrate however looks to be more natural, since one immigrates to a country, and emigrates from a country.

Emigration is the act of going out of a country, immigration the act of going in the country.

Now I don't know the Irish-Scottish history, but I presume Irish people went to Scotland. Then immigrated is the more natural word, but emigrated could be used aswell. When immigrated is used, the writer wants to 'accentuate' the act of going into Scotland. When emigrated is used, the writer thinks the act of leaving Ireland is more important or more on topic than entering Scotland.

People refer to the people who EMIGRATED from Ireland to Scotland and England as Emigrants

And why?

The Great Famine of course, and the search for more work.

Boomlala is right. Both immigrate and emigrate are suitable words to use in this case. The thing is just as BoomBoom described it.

Immigrate means that someone moves in some country from another one, and emigrate means someone moves out of his former country.
Thus I would see it as you first emigrate your country to immigrate another one.

Whatever the case is it's idiotic to start whining about grammatical error when you can't come up with a real argument after someone has proven their point to be valid.

Well for a start I don't roll ad hominem, red herring, and poisoning the well all into one 4 word disgrace of a comeback. Secondly, the only reason I seem to slam every post you make is because, tbh, they're either statistically wrong, horribly opinionated when it's clearly not necessary or personal attacks on an author making a valid argument. In fact, most of yours are all 3.

With an exception to the rule for me of course, I LOVE personal attacks; but only against idiots like you who think they can shit all over someone with irrelevant remarks that highlight why you're so overwhelmingly hated.
You seem to base all of your arguments off poor statistical evidence, and when someone corrects you or tells you you're wrong, you go apeshit with donkey comments such as 'go back to school'. At least Enigma contextualised his insult.

Ergo, to answer your question, yes they are.
