It can be proven with logic, but the problem is religious people don't (want to) believe in logical stuff.

I love these convos. People try to prove theirselves right but the only thing they do is fail. Concerning these matters you can only tell your opinion and give reasons for it, but you just can't tell it as the fact.

This is how I see this:
I couldn't care less about afterlife. We don't know this life properly so why bother taking pressure of what MIGHT be after it.
It it's there it's there, if not then not.

God/religious stuff can't be proven true, but neither can they be proven false. If so could be done it would've been done ages ago.
None of you have studied that stuff enough to even back your opinions up properly.

So just concentrate on this life and make the best of it. If preparing for the afterlife makes you happy, then go ahead and do it.
If total denial of such things makes you happy, no-one is there to stop you.

I still think teaching creationism instead of evolution shouldn't happen.

TBH a long time ago I was christian. Then I realised I thought the same thing as all other religions being that science can't explain everything. I also realised that there was no way to be in the good religion: because noone can know and religions are just old ways to keep a people under control. So I gave up Christianity.
One day some dude explained to me all the things that I thought science couldn't explain; all the things I used to call a god or guiding force for.
I loled and accepted that everything is science. If something exists it can be researched, seen, heard, noticed, ...
So why would you call upon a god?

I think strong beliefs in both ends of the matter are equally unwise.

Personally I don't take religion that seriously. I rarely go to church, I never pray or anything. The only thing I do is singing Christmas songs during the holidays.
But I feel no need leaving Christianity, it doesn't do any harm to me. Besides, even if I left, my thinking, acting, all that stuff would be influenced by Christianity. That's 'cause the whole culture here, and in many other places, is Christian. The same goes with other religions, too.

I don't believe blindly in that stuff really, 'cause it would bring me only restrictions and stuff. But neither do I deny it, because it all just might be out there.
It doesn't really matter that much to me.

Still I wouldn't call religions unimportant. Not 'cause I'd support them, but because of how much they have affected people's lives and what they have caused in the history. Pretty major stuff tbh.
