Editing .mov files? Empty Editing .mov files?

Post by Storm Sun Oct 17, 2010 9:26 am

So I have recorded this HD clip on my iPhone and I want to trim it a little because of the length. I have tried like everything to edit it without losing quality but it just doesn't work. I have even downloaded an app that would do the trick but when I render it it turns into mono sound WTF so I'm quite frustrated now. Fuck the .mov format! All I want to do is trim it, but without losing any quality (I don't want to convert it to .avi) Can it be so hard? If I had a mac it would be easy but I'm a PC-user so I can't import it to any (free) editing software.

Vegard, I need your superpowers here

EDIT - I just realised that I have used the word 'iPhone' a lot lately Very Happy I will stop this lol

Reencode it using Windows Movie Maker into WMV. Quality loss should be minimal.

Actually, all I had to do was to upload it to Youtube. Apparently you can edit the video on Youtube now. Talk about wasting my time. I'm locking this.

If you have an ATi/AMD graphics card from x1000 and to day you can convert most videos with their Avivo Video Converter. Really good software, otherwise the adobe pack is awesome.

I recommend encoding with h.264 placed in a .mp4 container. with right settings you can get lossless video & minimal space requirement.
