Religion Empty Religion

Post by GrieVer Fri May 16, 2008 10:56 am

hm...I think you should edit that subject cuz I'm a religious person...

and yeah the parents did a mistake, what I don't think there is something wrong in believing in God

Well I saw this in an old topic and desided to create a new one because the abuse if I revived the old thread, would no doubt be phenomenal and it would be locked.

The title of the thread was "Fucking religieus nutcakes " by WaterBottle.

Just wanted to asked why should the title be changed? because you dont agree with it?

I dont see religions being removed or changed into a way I see fit.

We have to respect your believes (aprently), which I will, if you respect mine.

My belief is all religions were created for the sole purpose to entertain people or scare little children. Created to allow the mentally ill to walk the streets, to fulfill peoples insecurities. Used to recruit people at an early age to kill any man/women or child that might think differently.

Sure its nice to believe their is something else, but Santa Clause was nice for a while as well.

If what Waterbottle posted was true, I cant see how you still believe their is nothing wrong with believing in god. A girl died because her parents believed in god.

Religion is nothing but an excuse to, kill, rape, steal from people. Wars are fought because some hippy woke up one day, a thousand years ago and wrote a novel that people back then took seriously.

Just read the bible, it was clearly written by someone out of his face and its only real use is toilet paper.

If your god really is so loving, no doubt he will forgive me for not giving up my spare time and money, to worship something thats not even there. He created me after all didnt he? so he made me the way I'm ment to be?

Look on the news, everyday people are killed because of religion. Religion is nothing but a con, an accuss for people to commit some of the worst crimes against humanity.

So please tell me, what are the benefits to believing? the warm fuzzy feeling?

Religion, what a crock of shit.

Well if the person believes something without analysing, critising and thinking deeply it ---> Warm Fuzzy Feeling

If the person is really trying to find reason and source of existence with his analythical thinking ---> Religion

delusion, opium for peeps etc
these will never prove theres nothing behind the existence

again
One should keep searching for the creator and when he thinks hes in the right path and applies it to his life, hes in religion
religion doesnt have to be dogmatic, even if most are... the difficult thing is to find the right ones among all other

I just don't understand how ppl believe in God, it's jsut because their parents believe it and their parents parents and so on.
The bible (as every religious book) was writen by PEOPLE and therefore it has nothing spiritual about it. eg: the first biblic documents were writen decenia after christs dead; how can that be reliable???
and even so, Jesus was just a bad Jew (and a mere human being!!!!!) who said you shouldn't all live by the jew rules but that god was love and that he forgave any bad stuff you did.
Ppl followed jesus (ofc cause the jew leaders supressed their ppl with all the jew rules) and then the jew leaders said jesus was a bad jew so he got crucified.
anyway i love jesus but i don't think he has anything to do with god like stuffs

i find the "god" thing odd. It's exactly the same as if I would say there's a huge potatoe that rules the galaxy, it makes no sense; it's based on nothing. I would've created it, a human being, just for the believe.
there was never any proof of a god(-like) existence ever, how could you believe in it for an other reason then 'my parents believe it and their parents and so on...'

'Jesus was the son of god because it's in the bible'
'the bible is a reliable book because it was writen by ppl that knew jesus, the son of god'

how much sense does this make? and though it's the only proof of god ...

religion is a good thing ppl
i mean that truly
there's tons of ppl that are happy because they think they'll live on after they die or that just need religion for their lives to make sence (others just play WOW)
they are nothing without religion and noone could/should make them that they reject their believe.

Also, religion is in some societies all around, they are born with it and there's no way they could reject that. If i made some statements that wearing (for examle) clothes is rediculous; you wouldn't stop wearing them. it's in your head, you can't get that out but by converting tons and tons of ppl at once (the group feeling; if everyone does it, why not me?)

what i'm trying to say here is that you can't make ppl atheist (unless in big groups) and if you could it would be dangerous and would result in mass suicides and big depressions.

they ARE something with religion, it's the social part of it that helps them: going to church, talking to ppl about their god, ...
Being katholic rules, anything you did wrong, you just confess to a priest (wich helps a lot in your fcked up mind then), say some praires and the priest sais your free; if you actualy believe that it does a lot of good in your mind.
and as you said: ignorance is bliss, but why is it dangerous?

yes i do know there's a lot of killing in religion, but it does work in small societies,
if you get more religions on a place it gets fck up ofc

banning all religion wouldn't help either, there'd just be boredness, annoyance, grief, agony, jealousy,...
because religion gives the answer to many physic illnesses(to put it in a strange way)

best thing ever is one religion over the whole world (and then ofc hope there won't come any alien beings)

but there's already to much ppl who don't believe in nothing spiritual anymore, no way there could be one religion in the world (and make ppl actualy believe it)

Religion saves and also fucks minds
the world's fucked up, and not only physicaly...

give them reason to believe something else is out there...
that we are not alone... and there is life after death etc... i personally believe in God =)

(btw i CBA!! to read most them essays) Very Happy

and even if there is a god, wouldnt u rather believe in him/her, at the time of your death, then find out he is real and go to hell?lol

Everyone believes in something, it's unavoidable. I think it's human basic need.
Have a look at the ones that aren't in any religion and don't believe in anything unnatural (eg. God) they still believe in the fact that no such thing exists.

Religions will always exist, even within small societies. So will the atheistic mindset. Hence I think it's useless to even create a topic of this,
it'll wake up arguments in any case.

what's CBA?

but you could believe in anything with your hell argument... makes no sense, you can believe anything that way... if i'd put up some story about you have to give me 10000000000$ or you will have eternal pains after your dead.
it's exactly the same as believing in god and hell thingy, it's so based on nothing
'what if ...' is such a nonsense argument

but could you explain me why you believe in god if you know that ppl just invented it for their basic need of explanation? I'd like to understand that :S

What if there isn't? Well, I'm happy to deal with that possibility and can continue to live happily. Can you?

Elsewhere in your post you seem to be suggesting that one can't have morality if one is an Atheist. This is patently untrue.
If you have tried and could not find a trace then the right path for you is atheism lawlawl
i DID NOT say u should surely find it eventually

isn't all life just an accident?
i mean at first there was like nothing, and there was a mass or something. what exploded and created the universe as it is now, it is still growing until it'll reach it's biggest point and from there on it'll start shrinking again to nothing. and then maybe i dunno create a new mass.
the reasons there's life on this planet is because there's water and water contains lil 1celled thingys and they evolved into animals and ppl. So it's pretty logical that there's life on other planets too (they found remnants of water on mars!!!).
I can't see no creator/right path in this, and especially not how you can 'find' it.

maybe the guy that created that mass that created all? i doubt it, because that mass was ALL there was. Also you shouldn't think in time with these things, time doesnt go as fast everywhere, or just doesn't goes at all.
it's not really 'first' there was nothing and 'then' there was a mass.
well i don't understand it myself but from the things i do understand i don't find a creator logical.
